About Our Labelstock

About Our Labelstock

A labelstock, which appears to be a single thin sheet, is composed of three layers: facestock, adhesive, and release paper/release film. Laminate film may also be applied over the facestock as needed. We offer labelstocks that meet various performance requirements by combining these materials.

Adhesive Coating

Lintec's Adhesive Coating Technologies

Generally, the release paper/film is unwound and the adhesive is coated at a high precision and consistent thickness using our proprietary technology.
After passing through the dryer, the film or paper is laminated over the adhesive layer, and the labelstock is wound into a master-roll.

Checklist for selecting the right labelstock

The following points should be clarified in advance when creating the label.

  • What material will it be applied to, and what is the condition of the surface?
Metal surface, plastic surface, grained surface, glossy surface, etc.
  • In what environment and location is it being applied?
Indoor, outdoor, high/low temperature, condensation, etc.
  • What adhesive type do you require?
    Permanent adhesion, removable, re-applicable
  • How do you apply?
    Hand application or labelling machine
  • Any regulations that need to be considered?
REACH regulation, RoHS Directive, UL/CUL standards, etc.
  • Any other requirements?
    Size, shape, printing method, etc.

Caution

  • Please test in advance, because the shape of the adherend and the environment and conditions of use may affect adhesion and removability.
  • If the adherend is dirty or has water, oil, or mold release agent on it, the adhesive strength of the label will be reduced.
  • The adhesive strength of the label will stabilize approximately 24 hours after it is applied.
  • Wipe off any dirt, etc. and crimp thoroughly.
  • Prior testing is recommended when applying labels to rough or curved surfaces.
  • The adhesive on the label may deteriorate under the influence of ultraviolet rays and temperature changes. Storage should also be given careful consideration.
