When labels are applied to molded plastic products, outgassing generated from the plastic over time can cause lifting and blistering. The use of gas-permeable labelstocks solves this problem.
When a general film-based label is applied to a molded plastic product, outgassing from the plastic can build up between the label and the plastic over time, causing lifting and blistering.
This phenomenon is particularly likely to occur when adhesive film is applied to resins (polycarbonate, polystyrene, ABS, etc.) used in places where heat exposure is likely.
